Job Description:
- Develop Treatment Plans: Create effective treatment plans and obtain approval from referring physicians.
- Patient Care: Treat patients according to the physician's treatment plan.
- Training Support: Assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides.
- Supervision: Oversee Occupational Therapy Assistants in direct patient care and related activities, ensuring compliance with state practice acts.
- Communication: Regularly update supervisors and health team members on patient progress, problems, and plans.
- Team Participation: Participate in Patient Care Conferences, Utilization Review meetings, and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed.
- Documentation: Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification documentation in accordance with the Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and regulatory requirements.
- Treatment Changes: Document treatment changes as per policy and procedures.
- Family Instructing: Train patients' families and nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge.
Required License or Certification:
- Valid Occupational Therapy License
