Position Overview:
Shadelands Post Acute is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist for a PRN position with weekend availability. This role offers competitive pay and a supportive working environment.

Job Description:
- Develop effective treatment plans and obtain approval for services from referring physicians.
- Treat patients according to the physician's treatment plan.
- Assist the nursing department with the training of Restorative Aides.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants in direct patient care and related activities, following state practice regulations.
- Communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.
- Participate in Patient Care Conferences, Utilization Review meetings, and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed.
- Engage in in-service training programs for other staff in the facility.
- Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification documentation in accordance with the Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and third-party payer requirements.
- Document treatment changes per policy and procedures.
- Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services.
- Participate in discharge planning.
- Recommend and facilitate the ordering of necessary durable medical equipment to enhance patient mobility (e.g., braces, walkers, canes, elevated toilet seats, grab bars).
- Report any issues with departmental equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy License.
