We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Infusion APP to join our Hematology & Medical Oncology team. This role is responsible for the clinical management of patients in the outpatient infusion unit, ensuring the delivery of coordinated, high-quality, and efficient care. Location: South Waterfront - OHSU Center for Health & Healing, Building 2 (CHH2) Schedule:
- Weekdays: 7:30 AM 7:30 PM (7 days on / 7 days off)Weekends: 8:00 AM 6:30 PMCoverage: Monday through SundayNote: Unit operates 365 days a year
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive clinical management of patients receiving infusion therapy in an outpatient oncology setting.
- Provide urgent medical care for patients requiring same day evaluation
- Provide medical care independently and/or in conjunction with attending physicians. Work in conjunction with MDs to provide continued clinical care in the outpatient setting
- Review labs and imaging as appropriate
- Assure appropriate setting of care (ambulatory, inpatient, critical care, acute care)
- Document subjective and objective findings, assessment and plan clearly and accurately in progress notes according to OHSU guidelines
- Provide comprehensive symptom management of complex patients by working collaboratively with oncology nurses, palliative care providers, social workers and others based on patient need
- Maintain communication with primary care providers and other individuals and agencies (e.g. skilled nursing facilities) as appropriate
- Deliver care to patients receiving treatment on clinical trials per protocol guidelines with timely notification of principal investigator/research nurse or study coordinator and appropriate documentation of adverse events
Required Qualifications
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in oncology
- Current and active Nurse Practitioner license for the state of Oregon
- State of Oregon Nurse Practitioner Prescriptive Privileges
- DEA certificate
- Current and active Physician Assistant license for the State of Oregon
- DEA certificate
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of APP experience in Hematology & Medical Oncology
- Strong clinical assessment and triage skills
