Job Summary:
At SCA, we maintain a fleet of various vehicles and heavy-duty equipment, including sweepers, dump trucks, flatbeds, pickup trucks, trailers, and more. We're seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the reliability and performance of essential machinery, engines, and mechanical systems. Hours: Overnight Sunday-Thursday 7PM-3:30AM
Location: 9000 Trinity Blvd, Hurst, TX 76053
Key Responsibilities as a Diesel Mechanic:
- Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements.
- Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
- Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability.
- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
- Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components.
- Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.
- Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users.
- Undertake other duties as assigned (repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles etc.)
- Heavy equipment experience preferred.
- Keep logs of work or use maintenance system to report on issues.
Requirements/Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of experience, with at least 2 years specializing as a Diesel Mechanic. Fleet or heavy equipment experience is a plus!
- Valid driver's license required; CDL A or B preferred.
- Deep knowledge of machinery, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools, shop tools, and precision measurement equipment (e.g., calipers).
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and maintain stamina throughout the workday.
- High school diploma preferred. Certification from a vocational school or apprenticeship is a plus.
- Commitment to following safety protocols and procedures.
- Occasional to travel for road calls and to assist at other locations as needed.
- Valid certification (ASE) is preferred
