Description
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at USF Health Morsani College of Medicine seeks a full-time registered dietitian specializing in pregnancy and postpartum to provide personalized, evidence-based nutrition guidance to support maternal health and fetal development, assisting with creating meal plans, managing pregnancy conditions including healthy weight gain, management of nausea symptoms and food aversions, gestational diabetes, and optimizing intake of essential nutrients during pregnancy and in the postpartum period. This position is grant funded. This position requires drug screening and level II background check.This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or related field with at least one year of directly related position-specific experience. Licensed as Licensed Dietician or Licensed Nutritionist according to Florida Statutes 468.501 -468.518 (Part X) and/or Registration with the American Dietetic Association.Preferred:
- A Master's degree in Dietetics or Nutrition is Preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and counseling skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary academic environment.
- Experience in an outpatient and telehealth clinic setting.
- Background in maternal-child health, nursing, nutrition, public health, or related field.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring learners at various levels of training.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., English/Spanish) preferred.

- Personalized Nutrition Plans: Develop tailored diet plans based on the individual's preferences, cultural needs, and specific health requirements.
- Nutrient Guidance: Educate patients on the importance of key nutrients like iron, calcium, folic acid, and protein during pregnancy and lactation
- Condition and Symptom Management: Provide dietary interventions for pregnancy-related conditions including gestational diabetes, anemia, nausea, reflux, constipation and food aversions.
- Healthy Weight Management: Help patients achieve and maintain a healthy weight gain during pregnancy and appropriate weight management postpartum.
- Education and Counseling: Empower patients with knowledge about making healthy food choices and understanding their body's nutritional needs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, midwives, and other healthcare professionals as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Develop and deliver patient education materials, group classes, and staff training sessions as needed.
- Support departmental academic activities, including teaching of residents, medical students, PA students, and other learners.
