JOB SUMMARY:
As the Permit Coordinator for our Storage Solutions division, you will be the go-to expert for managing all permit requirements related to our warehouse storage projects. This includes obtaining and coordinating permits for selective pallet racking installations and other related storage systems. You will work closely with project managers, customers, and local authorities to ensure all necessary documentation and fees are handled efficiently.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Permit Management: Oversee the entire permitting process for storage projects, particularly those involving pallet racking systems. This includes understanding local building codes and regulations.
- Coordination with Customers: Communicate directly with customers to gather necessary information, explain permit requirements, and keep them informed on progress.
- Documentation and Fees: Collect all required documentation and ensure permit applications are submitted accurately and on time. Manage and track any associated fees and ensure they are coordinated with accounting and project teams.
- Liaison with Authorities: Serve as the point of contact with local permitting authorities and inspectors. Address any questions or issues that arise and ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Cross-Training and Project Coordination: In addition to your permitting duties, you will be cross-trained as a coordinator to support other project management functions. This may involve assisting with smaller project management tasks, helping to coordinate schedules, and ensuring projects are running smoothly.
- Experience in project coordination, permitting, or a related administrative role, ideally within the construction or warehouse storage industry.
- Familiarity with building codes, zoning laws, and the permit application process for warehouse or industrial facilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple permits and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and regulatory bodies.
- Positive attitude, well-groomed professional appearance required; team player and possess organizational, interpersonal and communications skills. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers. Demonstrated presentation skills required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to sit at desk and work on computer often; stand, walk, talk on telephone frequently. Travel to multiple sites (branch offices, job fairs, technical schools, etc.) as required.
