Position Title: Permitting Specialist - Network Permitting & Utilities (P2)

Role
The Permitting Specialist is the primary internal and external liaison to ensure compliance with utility agreement and Joint Pole Use (SCJPC) requirements. Primary responsibilities include the management of and working with AandE vendors to ensure timely submission for and acquisition of attachment licenses and commercial electric service connections. The Permitting Specialist will review applications for attachment and power to ensure conformance with utility requirements, monitor application timelines, and assist in escalating delays internally and externally. Requires knowledge of governing state and federal regulations and relevant construction codes and processes (GO95).
Responsibilities
- Prepares and effectively manages applications through established Joint Pole processes to secure attachment authorization needed for installation of Crown Castle facilities.
- Work with design team to QC drawings and construction documents related to nodes, power, and outside fiber plant construction.
- Provide timely system updates and communicate effectively with all customers, both internal and external.
- Develops and maintains rich relationships with utilities, where applicable
- Serves as an interdepartmental liaison to ensure compliance with Joint Pole requirements during all stages of site selection, network construction and deployment as well as ongoing operations and/or site modifications.
- Provides research and advice to internal clients regarding conditions of attachment to or in regulated utility infrastructure.
- Interact with internal and external customers and vendors to ensure proper communication on and coordination of various project-related initiatives.
- Ability to comprehend and serve as a subject matter expert on matters related to Joint Pole attachment and ownership.
- Participate in district and region meetings.
- Pole audit data reconciliation.
- Review, analyze and interpret key data points from the utility records; developing dashboards and reports to visualize the data points and track key performance indicators.
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience Wireless industry experience preferred but not required.
Experience/Minimum Requirements
- At least two (2) years proven experience working in a fiber company, telephone or power utility working on joint use matters, engineering, and/or rights-of-way.
- Wireless Industry experience preferred or equivalent in a comparable industry or relevant military experience.
- Must be experienced in navigating corporate environment and working within a corporate group context.
- Experience with data analysis and data mapping is desirable.
- GO95 and SCJPC knowledge, along with JPA forms required

Working Conditions: This is a remote role with the expectation of on-site/in-person collaboration (must be located in a commutable distance to San Diego, CA) with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter.

The pay range offered for this position is $31.59-$43.46 per hour. A candidate's offer is determined by various factors including but not limited to, depth of experience, role-related knowledge and skills, relevant education or training, internal alignment, and work location. Depending on the position offered, the compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of a discretionary annual cash bonus or commissions, and equity incentives. Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive a minimum of 18 days of paid time off each year and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
