Postdoctoral Research Fellow-Cardiovascular Genetics (CVG) Center-The Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine.The successful candidate will use the state-of-the-art techniques to define and characterize the DNA damage, including double-stranded breaks (DSBs) in cardiac cells and delineate the molecular mechanisms responsible for the generation and repair of DSBs in cardiac cells.
Position Summary:
We are looking for highly motivated and detail-oriented candidates with strong scientific background and technical skills to join our research team. The ideal candidate will be able to work under close supervision of the PI within a focused group of researchers in cardiovascular sciences. This postdoctoral position offers early-career researchers the chance to gain valuable experience, develop independent research skills, learn cutting-edge techniques, and contribute to advancing scientific knowledge in their area of expertise.
Position Key Accountabilities:
• Work closely with the PI in planning and conducting experiments, analyzing data, and preparing publications.
• Assists in training and mentoring lab personnel, including research assistants, graduate students and other trainees.
• Stay up to date with the literature and analyze the data critically.
• Possess interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels.
• Possesses strong written and oral communication skills.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• A recent PhD or equivalent in molecular genetics, biology, or a related scientific field, or candidates who are is expected to complete their PhD training.
• A highly self-motivated and dedicated individual who is quick in adopting new technologies.
The candidate will have the opportunity to prepare and submit applications for post-doctoral awards and participate in the grant application preparation with the PI and other faculty at the Center

Doctoral/Terminal Degree
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:
