Description
The Privacy AI Risk Manager is responsible for ensuring the organization's use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies complies with applicable privacy laws, ethical standards, and internal governance frameworks. This role leads efforts to evaluate AI-driven systems for privacy risks, supports privacy-by-design in AI development, and collaborates with data science, legal, cybersecurity, and compliance teams to implement responsible AI practices. The manager monitors regulatory developments related to AI and data protection, contributes to privacy risk assessments, and helps develop policies and training to promote transparency, fairness, and accountability in AI use. This role requires strong leadership, operational rigor, and a deep understanding of privacy compliance frameworks and emerging AI governance standards. Demonstrates the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.Minimum- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Ethics, or related discipline)
- 8+ years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in privacy and/or AI governance
- Strong understanding of privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and AI-related regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to assess and mitigate privacy risks in technical systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong analytical and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
Desired
- Master's Degree in a relevant field
- Experience in AI risk management, privacy engineering, or data ethics
- Current privacy or AI governance certification (e.g., CIPP, CIPT, AIGP)
- Experience working in cross-functional teams involving data science or technology
- Lead AI privacy risk assessments and privacy-by-design reviews for AI/ML systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., data science, legal, cybersecurity) to embed privacy and ethical considerations into AI development and deployment.
- Monitor and interpret global regulatory developments related to AI and data protection.
- Develop and maintain internal policies, procedures, and training programs focused on responsible AI use.
- Identify and mitigate privacy risks associated with AI technologies across business units.
- Provide subject matter expertise on AI privacy compliance and governance.
- Support the Chief Privacy Officer in strategic initiatives related to AI governance.
- Represent the privacy team in AI governance committees or working groups.
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide direct feedback to direct reports.
- Travel independently, including to oversee training and audits.
