Description
Position Summary-- This position is a Second shift position.Perform quality assurance activities to ensure product conformance. Primary responsibilities include inspection and testing, line audits, and quality-related support to Manufacturing, Engineering, Sort, and other Departments. This position will also perform verification of corrective actions and support new hire quality training.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and/or tests to verify product conformance. Will also work with set-ups (grain flows), parts in process (heat treat inspection), finished product (final inspection, including embrittlement and drive torque tests), subcontracted parts, or tooling.
- Writes IMI on parts that do not meet specification. Make sure discrepant products are tagged. Complete all re-inspections. Communicates with responsible departments, and or suppliers regarding discrepancies.
- Report nonconformance and with assistance, determines dispositions and process deviations. Initiate or take key roles in problem resolution, improvement activities, and prevention measures.
- Perform internal audits, and assist Supervisor during external audits including corrective measures.
- Perform and support SPC activities, including new hire operator training.
- Initiate, complete, or verify records documenting quality assurance activities to ensure compliance to internal procedures, customer requirements and ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 14001, and IATF16949 standards.
Education/Experience
- HSD/GED or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years experience in a Quality position in a Manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with gages, measuring equipment, and testing equipment including but not limited to micrometers, tri-roll gages and optical comparators.
- Ability to read and understand blue prints.
- Previous experience in fastener industry a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of SPC.
