SUMMARY Performs first Article Inspections per AS9102 and Carlisle's own work instructions and processes. Will assist the FAI II and FAI III team with AS9102 documentation set-up, retrieving certifications from the system and working with purchasing to resolve any missing or incorrect certifications. May be required to perform simple mechanical inspections and record on the appropriate AS9102 form. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE A high school diploma or equivalent, e.g., GED, vocational school diploma. 1+ years of experience as a quality control inspector or in a relevant role is preferred. Knowledge of blueprint reading and dimensioning tolerancing per ASME Y14.5M. Background in aerospace, defense, or cable assembly industries favored. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Active IPC-WHMA-A-620 certification preferred. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Conversational in any other language is a plus. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages. Statistics: Interpret and analyze numerical data using statistical methods. Basic Geometry: The ability to understand and work with shapes, angles, lines, and planes. JOB SKILLS Intermediate in MS Office Suite and SharePoint. Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred. Good knowledge of blueprint reading, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and ASME Y14.5M General understanding of Quality Assurance Systems and Applications, such as ISO 9001 or AS9100. Has the technical knowledge to do the job at a high level of accomplishment. Produces mostly error-free work the first time with little waste or redone work. Hand agility, coordination, and accuracy. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills. Good attention to detail. Ability to communicate and interface well with the Quality and other departments. PHYSICAL DEMANDS As part of their job duties, the employee must sit for lengthy periods while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. SALARY INFORMATION According to several states' laws, this position's salary range falls between $18 and $21 hourly. However, this salary information is merely a general guideline.
