Function: Quality
Responsibilities:
AS9102 First Article Inspection responsibility including, but not limited to:
o Review of Engineering Change Notice's and release of new drawings/programs.
o Review and implementation of customer first article and related quality requirements.
o Uploading completed first articles into ERP system and Customer portals, as applicable.
o Preparation of First Article Inspection report worksheets and work packages.
o Support scheduling of parts/assemblies related to First Article Inspections.
o Assist Quality team with analysis and review to verify compliance, monitor performance
and detect potential process issues.
o Interface with Customers and Supplier's during new product launch and quality
improvement activities.
o Ability to write technical reports that accurately communicate quality Issues
o Provide support during customer reviews/audits
Inspection of manufactured and purchased products:
o Assures product quality and has knowledge in the use of all types of standard inspection
measurement equipment, such as micrometers, dial bore and height gauges, internal and
external thread gauges, use of V-blocks, sine plates, and indicators for part inspection
setup.
o Read and interpret aerospace blueprints and geometrical tolerancing
o Verifies and guarantees product quality documentation by reviewing, as applicable:
Material certifications/packages, special processing, First Article Inspection
Reports (AS9102), inspection method sheets (IMS), first piece inspections, etc.
Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive attitude.
Self-motivated, analytical data-driven decision-making capabilities with a commitment to
quality and customer service.
Ensures adherence to applicable Triumph Group internal, federal, state and local laws and
regulations related to compliance and takes responsibility to ensure ongoing conformity with such
rules and regulations
Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met
Qualifications:
High School or Technical School Diploma or equivalent.
Associate's degree in mechanical or manufacturing technology a plus.
Experience with quality management systems compliant with AS9100 and knowledgeable of
AS9102 First Article Inspection Report requirements
A minimum of 5-7 years in quality inspection/machining (final, source and in process inspection)
working in a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, gages, micrometers, and other measuring tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer focus
Ability to build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers
