- Regional Director of Operations
Description
General PurposeServes as the strategic and operational leader overseeing a portfolio of senior living communities within the region. Acts as a mini-CEO, accountable for driving sales performance, optimizing resident experience, cultivating a positive culture, ensuring financial success, maintaining regulatory compliance, executing systems and processes consistently, and developing high-performing leadership teams. Provides executive-level guidance and support to community leaders to achieve operational excellence and sustainable growth.
Essential Duties
Regional Operations Support
- Support regional operations across multiple assisted living, memory care, and independent living communities.
- Serve as a role model for PACS's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Leadership & People Development
- Recruit, onboard, and develop high-performing Executive Directors (EDs) and Executive Directors in Training (EDITs).
- Establish clear expectations, coaching, and accountability systems for community leadership.
- Provide day-to-day supervision, mentorship, guidance, and support to Executive Directors.
- Build a strong leadership bench and succession pipeline to ensure continuity.
- Model calm, emotionally mature, and high-trust leadership.
- Recognize excellence and address performance issues promptly.
Operational Excellence
- Implement the PACS Operating Playbook consistently across communities.
- Drive daily, weekly, and monthly execution disciplines to ensure operational consistency.
- Conduct structured community visits with coaching and performance audits.
- Schedule and lead monthly operations meetings with community leadership teams.
- Set clear goals, track KPIs, and maintain accountability with supported communities and EDs.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of federal and state regulations to ensure compliance.
Sales & Occupancy
- Lead occupancy growth efforts and maintain a strong lead generation engine.
- Ensure disciplined sales activity, including effective tour conversion systems.
- Develop and maintain community relationships to drive local market presence and partnerships.
- Support pricing strategy initiatives and revenue mix improvement.
Financial Performance
- Assist communities in budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial performance management.
- Deliver budgeted Net Operating Income (NOI) and drive year-over-year improvements.
- Ensure labor model adherence and proactive forecasting.
- Review financial results regularly and lead corrective action planning.
- Elevate financial literacy and accountability among Executive Directors.
- Monitor collections and accounts receivable within the region.
Regulatory & Clinical Partnership
- Maintain operational compliance and ensure survey readiness across communities.
- Partner closely with clinical leaders to support service quality and resident care.
- Respond swiftly to compliance issues and resident/family concerns.
- Promote safety, dignity, and quality of care throughout the region.
- Stay informed on survey schedules and be available to support communities during inspections.
Culture Stewardship
- Promote a culture of dignity, belonging, teamwork, transparency, and high performance.
- Foster joyful, purpose-driven environments that value employees as the organization's most important asset.
- Actively support conflict intervention and resolution involving customers, families, employees, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain awareness of HR issues and risk management concerns region-wide.
- Collaborate with PACS support teams (HR, Therapy, Sales/Marketing, Clinical, Finance, Accounting) to assist communities in meeting and exceeding goals.
Additional Responsibilities
- Act as local Executive Director on occasion, as needed.
- Actively participate in supporting acquisition processes for new facilities within the region.
- Support contract negotiations impacting the region as a whole.
- Monitor employee turnover, identify trends, and implement strategies to improve community operations.
Supervisory Requirements
This position may be responsible for supporting and managing several levels of employees either directly or indirectly.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to, hiring, training, budgeting, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems and terminations.
Qualification ( Education and/or Experience)
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required.
- Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration (MBA), or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in senior living or healthcare communities, demonstrating proven leadership and organizational skills.
- Minimum of 4 years of multi-site leadership experience is preferred.
- Proven track record of success in occupancy growth, Net Operating Income (NOI) management, and people development.
- State-required license or certification for operating an Assisted Living/Memory Care center is desired. Administrator license is preferred.
- Strong regulatory knowledge and fluency is required.
- Candidate must currently reside in a state where PACS senior living operates or be willing to relocate to such a state.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite products.
- State-required license or certification for operating an Assisted Living/Memory Care center is desired. Administrator license is preferred.

Travel by auto and airline will be required.
