Description
The purpose of this position is to direct and control inbound and outbound loads and record accurate weights from scale information.Essential Position Responsibilities
Initiate daily reports by recording each load of material that enters and leaves the facility. This includes entering weights and other load information into the ERP system, compiling information around usage, shortages, material types so that appropriate tracking and efficiencies can be monitored.
Maintains logs of inbound and outbound traffic for shift production. Prepare scale tickets each day, with the product/material name, driver's name, and truck and trailer numbers, etc. Inform drivers of the next destination and leave time when dispatch is not available.
Help maintain a line of communication between production and drivers/deliveries. Informing both departments when loads are behind or relaying information between the departments of any other problems or concerns that may affect the other.
Works closely with the accounting department, ensuring reports are accurate, and conveyed in a timely manner. Also relays any information needed for adjustments tickets.
Enforce parking/delivery activities and ensure proper housekeeping around the scales and sale house.
Participates as a member of the Team . Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives : Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Be able to efficiently work in a scale house environment. Regularly required to stand, reach and move about the facility. Light to moderate physical effort is required. Will use a personal computer to enter data and run reports. The working environment can be wet, cold/hot depending on outdoor temperatures and walking services can be slippery.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Will use waterproof/steel toed footwear, hearing protection, reflected vest and other protective equipment as needed or required.
Travel: NA
Technical Experience: Preferred experience with computers, spreadsheets, and email.
Industry Experience: Preference offhaul, scale house, experience.
