A&M is known for analyzing and resolving complex situations which often require the application of sophisticated valuation techniques. Due to increasing demand for such analysis, A&M has invested globally in building a team of valuation experts to provide a full suite of valuation services in the areas of financial and tax reporting, mergers and acquisitions, complex financial instruments, illiquid securities, and private equity and real-estate portfolios. This has resulted in our Valuation practice growing steadily year over year and becoming one of the most respected in the industry.
Our Asset-Backed Finance Group is expanding in New York and Dallas and actively interviewing at multiple levels. The team analyzes the risk and value of various asset-backed finance and structured credit investments, specializing in assisting clients address questions with investments, assisting clients prepare for succeeding in board meetings, valuation committee meetings, investor meetings, and audit reviews. We are seeking candidates at Associate, Senior Associate, Manager, and Director and levels, specializing in the valuation of illiquid structured credit investments.
- We specialize in the valuation of illiquid structured credit investments; Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs), esoteric ABS, Collateralized Fund Obligations (CFOs), Rated Note Feeders, NAV Loans, private ABF investments, Mortgages, Whole Loan Portfolios, Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE), Student Loans, Auto, Credit Cards, Bankruptcy, Litigation Trade Claims.
- Clients include global asset managers, private credit funds, private equity, hedge funds and business development companies. Assisting clients with valuation, risk management, model validation, disputes and other strategic initiatives.
Some of the main responsibilities are:
- Responsible for all aspects of client engagements including resource requirements, timelines, project workflow, budgeting, and delivery of valuation schedules/reports
- Developing, updating, and implementing financial models used for fair value assessments primarily based on discounted cash flow analyses
- Conducting detailed reviews and ensuring the accuracy of financial models and valuation analyses
- Building strong relationships with clients through exceptional day-to-day project management, communication, coordination, and execution
- Proactively communicating efficiently and effectively to all levels of the engagement team
- Conducting the final quality control review of reports and other client deliverables
- Clearly present findings to clients, valuation committees, auditors, and other interested parties
- Creating a learning environment by providing meaningful coaching to staff, leading pointed training sessions, and providing feedback to team members
- Working with Managing Directors on practice management and business development efforts

Core Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of valuation and modelling experience gained at a Big 4 or other reputable consulting firm, investment bank or independent valuation firm
- Excellent analytic foundation with advanced understanding of financial statements and various valuation methodologies (primarily DCF)
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
- Qualified or studying for a professional qualification such as CFA/ASA/CPA preferred
- Experience with IntexCalc a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; VBA, Macros, Python, etc. a plus
- Strong writing skills and experience with developing presentations and reports using PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Effective project management and organizational skills
- Ambitious, results driven, self-starter with the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial culture
