What You'll Do:
The Senior Maintenance Technician is a hands-on expert responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues, particularly in Diecast machinery, hydraulic systems, and other advanced manufacturing equipment. This role emphasizes deep troubleshooting expertise and mentoring junior technicians to elevate team performance. While a working knowledge of PLCs is required for troubleshooting purposes, this position does not involve PLC programming or design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on Diecast machines, CNC, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and other complex mechanical and electrical equipment.
· Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
· Support and guide maintenance technicians in resolving difficult technical issues.
· Serve as a technical expert and mentor for junior team members, promoting skill development and knowledge sharing.
· Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
· Maintain accurate records of repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment modifications.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and equipment performance.
· Assist in training programs and onboarding of new maintenance staff.
· Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
· Communicates with other shifts and departments to aid in achieving plant production and quality goals. Submits daily shift pass down on projects, special assignments, or as requested.
· Assists in development of subordinates for promotional opportunities.
· Drives continuous improvement on the maintenance department by holding accountability for expectations of MTBF, MTTR, 5S, PM completion, standard work, value creation and other activities for plant metrics.
· Monitor repairs in process, maintain records and coordinate effects to ensure completion to schedule.
· Control maintenance supplies in order to minimize inventories and yet meet customer product requirements.
· Drives operational performance to improve and achieve key measurable performance objectives.

Requirements:What We Need from You:
Required Qualifications
Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or related field preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with a focus on troubleshooting complex systems.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, especially in Diecast and hydraulic systems.
Familiarity with PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) for troubleshooting purposes only.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
Proven ability to train and support others effectively.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Coaches and mentors employees to develop a cross-trained workforce with clear developmental objectives.
Preferred Skills
Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Basic understanding of CMMS systems for work order tracking and preventive maintenance.
Leadership Through Mentorship: Actively supports team development by sharing technical expertise, promoting a culture of continuous learning, and encouraging cross-training.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret various graphs.
Computer Skills: Computer literate, Excel, Word, PLEX Maintenance module.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Additional Competencies
· Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance diagnostics and correction procedures
· Ability to read electrical schematics
· Understand and diagnose pneumatic and hydraulic schematics

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Due to customer demands, the employee must have the ability to work overtime on weekends and weekdays.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
