Senior Manager - Fleet OperationsPosition Summary
The Senior Manager, Fleet Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, performance, and regulatory compliance of the company's fleet. This role ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation and asset utilization while providing strategic leadership and operational oversight.
Essential Function s
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety policies.
- Manage daily repair decisions and preventive maintenance schedules for fleet assets.
- Oversee talent acquisition and staffing processes within the fleet department.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with Underground Storage Tank (UST) regulations.
- Manage operations of the GeoTab telematics system.
- Conduct accident reviews and determine appropriate follow-up actions.
- Identify and implement safety improvements in fleet shop operations.
- Actively participate in Safety Committee meetings.
- Develop and promote OEM training opportunities for fleet personnel.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Fleet Managers across locations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.
- Oversee inventory control and parts management.
- Lead and coordinate special projects as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and sensitive operational data.
- Ensure vehicles meet OEM specifications and regulatory standards.
Education
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
- 5-10 years of fleet management or transportation experience with a similarly sized fleet, approximately 2500 assets, $125 million in assets.
- Knowledge of the beverage industry and general repairs for Class 6-8 trucks and warehouse equipment.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Fleet Management Systems.
Certifications & Licenses
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continued employment.
Other Requirements
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA rules and regulations.
- Basic financial acumen.
- Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and independently.
- Skilled in managing multiple and competing priorities.
- Effective communication and delegation skills.
- Adaptability and strong problem-solving capabilities
