Epiq is a global third-party administrator of legal services. Product Development is a multi-faceted department involved with Epiq's Class Action and Remediation division. We handle large volumes of data and facilitate the critical administrative needs of clients responsible for class action settlements with process design and technology solutions that result in high client satisfactions scores and timely and accurate remediation and redress. Our work is deadline driven and often court ordered, requiring our teams to quickly move between tasks and shift priorities.
The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer is tasked with developing mission critical software. This role will primarily focus on advancing our test automation practice. To succeed in this position, you will need proven ability to organize workload, priorities, and complete tasks on time. You will work in a team environment and need to effectively communicate both within your team and to external teams. As a Senior member of the team, you will act as a resource for other software QA engineers, liaison between department manager and other analysts, as well as the business team. This position is for a full stack QA Engineer with a strong emphasis on back-end processes. This is a 50% green field/50% brown field development project. We are building scalable, extensible, high volume, high availability software workflows.
Job Responsibilities
• Ensure that new and existing product functionality are reliable, defect free and function as intended
• Create, document, verify and execute component-level to user acceptance test plans and test cases, leveraging and advancing our test automation practice as well as manual testing when appropriate.
• Work closely with business partners and the application development team in eliciting project requirements to create test cases
• Use Agile Scrum SDLC methodologies and participate in Scrum ceremonies
• Participate in the development and reporting of test metrics; items such as test confidence and test coverage reports
• Review requirements specifications and identify gaps and inconsistencies
• Work closely with development engineers, business analysts, and other QA team members to identify, report, and troubleshoot defects; verify problem fixes in a detailed, efficient, and timely manner
• Provide leadership among other Quality Assurance Analyst positions, facilitating a lead role in providing direction and working directly with the Engineering Manager.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years' experience in software Quality Assurance and testing roles emphasizing both "White Box" and "Black Box" testing strategies as well as test automation
• 3+ years' experience in database testing with the ability to read, write, and execute basic SQL queries
• 3+ years' experience working in an Agile software development life cycle methodology
• Must have at least 3+ years' experience in the software testing of multi-tier client/server applications
• Ability to understand software development framework, architecture concepts, and terminology
• Experience in Microsoft Visual Studio Team System and Azure DevOps technologies
• Innate project leadership; desires accountability and responsibilities to promote the success of our company
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Excellent analytical and organizational skills; Strong deductive reasoning
• Ability to multi-task and work separate projects in a fast paced & dynamic company environment and extremely tight timelines
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direction or as part of a team
