Job Summary
The Senior Training Specialist serves as a lead facilitator delivering training programs to employees and external stakeholders (beneficiaries, Providers, and DHA employees). In addition to facilitation, this role provides oversight of training delivery quality, supports major content updates, and contributes to continuous improvement of training programs. The Senior Training Specialist partners closely with instructional design staff and training leadership to ensure consistency and effectiveness across all training initiatives.
Education & Experience
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, or related field or equivalent; OR equivalent experience, to include any combination of education and experience
• U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
• 5 years of experience in training facilitation or corporate learning
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and virtual training platforms
• Initiated improvements, changes and updates to training content and delivery Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional best practices
Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, or related field preferred
• Experience in a healthcare or customer service environment
• Knowledge of or experience with military culture is strongly preferred
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with training department-specific needs, including compliance with the department policies and procedures, maintaining required training documentation, participating in process improvement meetings, and other duties as appropriate and requested.
• Facilitate training through a variety of methods, including asynchronous online courses, classroom instruction, synchronous desktop training and one-on-one sessions.
• Deliver onboarding, role-specific, and compliance training using TriWest-approved content.
• Provide trainees and their supervisors with performance feedback and conduct follow-up training as needed and requested.
• Model best practices in facilitation.
• Conduct advanced evaluations of learner performance and provide actionable feedback.
• Assist with planning and scheduling training sessions during peak periods.
• Represent the Training Department in cross functional meetings to advocate for training needs.
• Perform major training content updates (e.g., restructuring modules, correcting errors, updating terminology, revising instructional flow) in collaboration with instructional design staff.
• Monitor learner engagement and provide feedback to the Instructional Design team to improve training effectiveness.
• Track attendance, completion, and assessment results, reporting outcomes to training leadership.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and training leadership to identify gaps and propose enhancements to training programs.
• Provide logistical support during training sessions, including managing virtual platforms and addressing learner questions.
• Maintain professional and courteous relations with all TriWest staff and external contacts.

Working Conditions
• Regular and reliable attendance is required
• Availability to work non-regular hours as required
• Works within a standard office environment, with minimal travel
• Extensive computer work with prolonged sitting

TriWest job postings typically include a salary range, which can vary based on the specific role and location, but generally this position ranges from around $65,000 to $72,000 per year.
