Description

The Nephrology Specialty Nurse is responsible for an area of specialized nursing practice and will be responsible for partnering with the providers and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care through participation in activities such as phone triage, scheduling questions, insurance authorization, letters, and communicating with families through Nemours portal messages. Additionally, the Nephrology Specialty Nurse will participate in patient and family education, in clinic or via phone, regarding common nephrology diagnoses and medications. The Nephrology Specialty Nurse will help facilitate management of the Ambulatory Blood Pressure Clinic. The specialty nurse will utilize the nursing process as a basis for providing and evaluating nursing care. Candidates should have excellent time management skills, be a proactive worker, work well in a team environment, and possess the desire to engage in rheumatology patient care.

Essential Functions

Requirements

• Active Delaware (or compact state) Registered Nurse Licensure Required
• BSN required; at least 3 years of related experience preferred
• Pediatric nursing experience required; prior Nephrology nursing experience preferred
• American Heart Association BLS
