We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Telephony Engineer to engineer, operate, and continuously improve our enterprise cloud-based voice, UCaaS, and contact center platforms.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be hands-on with design, configuration, deployment, and support of modern communication solutions across platforms such as RingCentral, Zoom Phone, Dialpad etc. , ensuring they are reliable, scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs.
You will build and maintain UCaaS and CCaaS architectures, design and implement call routing, IVRs, and contact center workflows, and directly troubleshoot and resolve complex telephony issues. You will own incidents end to end-from real-time troubleshooting and root-cause analysis to permanent remediation and improvement-while actively modernizing platforms and configurations.
This role works hands-on with voice and network integrations, partnering with architecture and network engineering to optimize call quality, troubleshoot SIP and media flows, and validate voice-path designs. You will engineer and support integrations with CRM (Salesforce), ticketing, identity, and workflow systems, and deploy and maintain device ecosystems including softphones, SIP endpoints, and conferencing hardware.
You will produce and document Communications architectures, call flows, and operational processes, engage directly with business stakeholders to refine requirements, and implement scalable, automated solutions that improve both user and customer experience. You will also evaluate emerging communication technologies, test and recommend enhancements, and help guide platform evolution through practical engineering leadership.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on senior engineer who thrives in complex environments, takes ownership of challenging telephony problems, and enjoys building reliable, scalable, and well-documented communication solutions. You are comfortable working deeply with modern cloud telephony and contact center platforms, including advanced call routing and the practical use of AI-powered capabilities such as voice analytics and intelligent routing to improve call quality and customer experience. You value collaboration, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical partners, and build strong relationships across Engineering, Security, Platform, Sales, and business teams while delivering excellent service in a highly technical, customer-facing telecom environment.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in VoIP, UCaaS, CCaaS, or telephony engineering roles.
- Hands-on expertise implementing cloud telephony platforms (RingCentral, Zoom Phone, Dialpad, Teams Phone, or comparable).
- Significant experience troubleshooting, creating quality metrics, and maintaining voice network dependencies.
- Experience designing and supporting contact center routing, call flows, and agent workflows.
- Proficiency with SIP devices, softphones, and communication hardware endpoints.
- Experience engineering integrations with CRM(s), identity systems, and workflow tools using APIs or vendor frameworks.
- Strong skills in creating enterprise ready documentation; including diagrams, call flows, and communication focused technical architecture.
- Experience with complex initiatives and an ability to mentor others.
Preferred
- Experience building automation and scripting solutions, including AI-assisted workflows.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks for speech recognition, sentiment analysis, or real-time transcription services is highly valued, as is the ability to evaluate and integrate emerging AI telephony solutions into our enterprise communications infrastructure.
- Fundamentals with VoIP (Audio codecs, MOS, SIP) and building relationships/partnering with Network teams.
- Experience with telecom compliance and regulatory guidelines.
- Experience with telecom expense management or contract/vendor oversight.
- Experience working with Engineering teams on software solutions for API access and automation.
- Knowledge of enterprise collaboration tools (Teams, Slack, Zoom).
- Fundamental Experience/working knowledge with adjacent technologies and disciplines:
- Windows and macOS Systems
- LAN, WAN, and Public Internet networks
- Desktop deployments
We believe in fair compensation for all of our people, which is why our pay structure takes into account the cost of labor across U.S. geographic markets. For this position, we offer a pay range of $104,000 -- $201,300 annually, with pay varying depending on work location and job-related factors such as knowledge, position level and experience. During the hiring process, your recruiter can provide more information about the specific salary range for the job location.
CHG Healthcare offers starting salaries for sales positions in the form of total target compensation (TTC = base + commission + bonus), which includes base pay, commission, and bonuses. Sales positions receive short-term incentives through commission plans and bonuses. On the other hand, non-sales positions have starting salaries that consist of a base salary and short-term incentives through various bonus plans, which are paid out monthly, quarterly, or annually.
