Description
Cornell Pump Company is a prominent leader in the centrifugal pump industry with over 75 years of experience and continuous growth. Our manufacturing facilities located in Clackamas, OR, Vancouver, WA, and Rock Hill, SC allow us to serve diverse markets such as Agriculture, Industrial, Municipal, Rental, and Mining.We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, analysis, and compliance across our subsidiary operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting fundamentals, analytical skills, and a proactive mindset to support our continued growth.
This exempt position offers a salary range of up to $55,000 (DOE)

What You'll Do:
- Perform general accounting functions, including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and ensuring accurate general ledger reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reserves, forecasts, and cost accounting reports to support management decision-making.
- Conduct direct labor, overhead, and variance analyses reports for operational improvement.
- Collaborate closely with the manufacturing and operations teams to ensure compliance with company reporting policies, accurate product costing, and consistent application of accounting principles.
- Maintain and enhance financial reporting dashboards using Power BI, Excel, and other software solutions.
- Serve as backup for accounts receivable, accounts payable processing, and vendor master file maintenance.
- Support internal control and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts through accurate documentation and process adherence.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and other projects as assigned.

PREFERED EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES:
- Familiarity with NetSuite Cloud ERP, Power BI, and Excel.
- Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- 0-1 year of accounting experience.
- Quick learner; technically adept.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with a concentration in Accounting.
