Job Summary
Represents the University in new student recruitment and participates in the evaluation of applicants. Participates in recruitment activities and projects, both in and out of state.
Essential Functions
Oversees and coordinates all day-to-day operational aspects of OAFA's visitor engagement team.
Develops and implements strategies to recruit potential applicants to Pitt.
Corresponds and interacts with prospective students, applicants, University alumni, guidance counselors, and others seeking information on admissions standards, academic and non-academic programs, and student activities following established procedures and precedents.
Resolves complex problems as necessary (i.e. danger to the guests that arise on a visit, malfunctioning equipment, or trouble shooting answers to tough questions in person).
Plans recruitment activities such as conducting information sessions in-person, on- and off-campus, and virtually.
Assists with coordinating prospective students with current students to increase affinity for the University.
Conducts on-campus visits of prospective undergraduate students and their parents.
Responds to cases promptly and with professional customer-service skills.
Serves as a lead for student tour guides, Pathfinders (PF). Oversees the PF Officers' points system to ensure accurate uploads and documentation.
Maintains comprehensive records of Pathfinder merchandise distribution, including recipient details.
Administers and updates Teams channels, ensuring the addition and removal of student Pathfinder employees as needed.
Maintains detailed Pathfinder employee information spreadsheets for efficient record-keeping and distribution.
Coordinates with hiring and training of Pathfinders.
Reviews and approves program breakdowns, making necessary adjustments to the Pathfinder tour script based on staffing needs and constraints.
Creates and adapts program breakdowns to accommodate specific guests' needs, such as disability accommodations.
Supervises PF social media accounts, monitoring posts, direct messages, and community interactions.
Serves as a liaison for university-wide requests requiring Pathfinder appearances and collaborations with Pitt and OAFA.
Oversees officer projects, providing guidance, tracking progress, and supporting brainstorming and execution phases.
Coordinates summer projects and professional development for PFs with OAFA staff, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Develops and maintains a tour tracking system for efficient sign-in and sign-out processes, creating accurate hourly wages for the Pathfinders.
Develops general presentation slides for advisors, incorporating necessary updates and information communicated.
Physical Effort
Mobility with regard to possible travel within the United States. Valid driver's license is required. May be required to carry a box of material (up to 50 lbs.) from car and/or from building to building or between floors.
