The salary range posted represents the low and high end of OSI's salary range for this position. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, experience and performance. Base salary is one component of OSI's overall total rewards package. Other components may include bonuses, special pay programs, comprehensive time off, 401k with match and a full suite of benefit offerings for you and your family.
Position Summary:
This role is responsible for developing both short-term and long-term strategic sales plans to meet growth goals focusing on retail private label and co-manufacturing channels. This role directs and leads the activities and efforts of sales staff in support of the company's strategy. The role will have direct sales, insights, marketing and customer service reports with indirect finance, R&D, commercialization and innovation.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Job manages a team, has authority to hire and performance-manage the team.
• Job leads/supervises/manages 1-5 employees.
• A passion for food, custom solutions and developing teams and processes to deliver custom solutions for customers
• Develop short- and long-term strategic plans that align with significant growth focus to develop private label retail platforms and co-manufacturing channels for leading retailers and CPG companies.
• Direct the implementation, management, and administration of sales strategies by working through sales staff responsible for turning established sales strategies into effective programs and initiatives that yield results.
• Build and maintain effective long-term partnering relationships with customer leadership that provides the organization with a stable customer base and insight into future needs, including sustainability and related sales opportunities.
• Drive strategic planning and execution with full accountability for P&L, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
• Develop and direct the implementation of effective and coordinated communication budgets and strategies that support sales plan objectives.
• Continuously review and analyze external market and competitor trends as well as internal manufacturing capability to ensure continued alignment between sales plans and environment; make and communicate adjustments to plans and strategies as needed.
• Develop, manage, and motivate an effective sales, culinary, and customer
• service team with skills that enable them to execute against plan; provide team with required training, resources, coaching, tools, and information to be successful.
• Build effective relationships and work closely with leaders of other functions including, but not limited to, Operations, Finance, Sustainability, Commercialization, Supply Chain, Human Resources and Legal to achieve goals.
• Leverage consumer insights and data to define strategies
• This role has the responsibility to understand and places in practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills:
• 10 years of experience in related field is preferred.
• Experience in business development, sales, and/or marketing.
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful business strategies.
• Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.
• Eight or more years of progressively more responsible roles working in, and leading, a business development- business unit.
• Demonstrated success negotiating complex and profitable food manufacturing sales contracts in food service, retail, and quick service restaurant sales channels.
• Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively both internally and externally to achieve established goals using verbal and written communications.
• Strong understanding of food manufacturing, supply chain, and commercialization processes that support sales initiatives.
• Ability to build, manage, and motivate effective and cohesive sales teams and to achieve established goals working through others.
Preferred Education:
• MA/MS/MBA or equivalent is preferred.
Work Environment:
• Work is generally performed within a business professional office environment, with standard office equipment available.
• Work conditions are typical of an office environment.
• This role requires 30% domestic travel.
• Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 15 pounds
• Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls, and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
• Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Less than 4 hours.
