Systems Engineers at Lutron participate within a cross-functional team to conceptualize, design, and develop innovative, high-quality consumer products and services for commercial and residential use.
There are a variety of technologies and concepts throughout the product lifecycle that you could encounter from day one, such as:
- Highly configurable products such as motorized window shades, light fixtures, power panels, or personalizable keypads
- Design for business, engineering, and manufacturing requirements and constraints
- Mass customization manufacturing processes, dynamic work instructions, bills of material and end-of-line verification
- Product Configuration Rules Engines, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Configure Price Quote (CPQ), and eCommerce platforms
- Data and logical flow design, implementation, and validation
- Version control, software test methodologies, and database technologies
Responsibilities
- Design maintainable, elegant, and reusable product-family configuration rules to meet a wide variety of product requirements and feature sets:
- Work closely with a cross-functional team of other highly skilled engineers and product managers to understand the technical and business requirements for a product or product family
- Analyze product domain requirements and opportunities for reuse of common requirements across product lines
- Design and implement logical models for product families that support Lutron's mass customization business
- Help establish standards and guidelines for rules development
- Ensure a high standard of quality in your own work:
- Collaborate in the development of best practices, process improvements, clean designs, smart testing and thorough review
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans to ensure product rules meet or exceed internal and customer specifications.
- Understand and collaborate with all downstream departments impacted by product rules:
- Manufacturing
- Operations
- Quoting & Ordering Software Tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Applied Physics, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for each degree earned
- 0-3 years' experience in a related field
