LOCATION: ERCC, Test Site A-6, Test Site B-4B / Eglin AFB, FL On Site
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Require practical knowledge of operational objectives and range capabilities. This position may interface with range schedulers; project coordinators; members of management; Reliance Test & Technology employees from other sites; various contacts outside the company; and Civil Service or active-duty military personnel. Incumbents must exercise discretion and independent judgment in resolving problems. May be responsible for assuring communications systems are established between range control, test aircraft and mission support personnel, and may coordinate range cleanup operations with the appropriate support groups, including submission of work requests to facilitate range maintenance and operation.
- Primary job function will be the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) support of the Telemetry Systems at Test Site B-4A/B, A5, C12, D1C, FLTM and their supporting infrastructure used in test and training mission activity.
- Duties will also include interfacing with military and civilian test customers to ensure mission success. Responsible for the oversight of group personnel, including the selection and appraisal process.
- Responsible for disseminating appropriate information, policies, and concerns from the section office to employees and customers back to the section office.
- Required to attend planning meetings to define technology issues and support requirements and provide test customer tours and briefings on TM capabilities as required.
GENERAL DUTIES: Reports to a Section Manager or Director. Must utilize above average oral and writing skills. Must have a good understanding of engineering and technical support principles and practices. Requires ability to (1) develop and maintain knowledge of current issues in Telemetry systems O&M and Spectrum Monitoring O&M (2) interface with Government representatives on technical and resource decisions as needed, and (3) make administrative decisions regarding the role of O&M personnel in implementation of Government standards and requirements. Requires an ability to continually access equipment requirements, make appropriate evaluations of recommendations as needed to maintain technical competence within the group. Requires ability to implement RT&T standard business practices and procedures, as well as Eglin Operating Procedures (EOPs).
Job Requirements:
OTHER DUTIES: Periods of extensive overtime are possible. This position may require shifting of hours to accommodate mission support and to allow for crew rest, if necessary. Other duties may be assigned, such as safety, security, custodial, PIPR, and TMDE. Work hours are 0600-1500; however, all overtime missions must be supported. May also be required to work at other locations, when requested. Occasional TDY/travel may be required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must a High School graduate (or have equivalent GED) and have 10 years' experience in RF and/or electronics training. Possess above average oral and writing skills. Must have a good understanding of engineering and technical support principles and practices. Some positions require detailed working knowledge of land range operations and flight safety pertaining to range mission support. In such positions the Technical Support Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of range control and safety.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Secret security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work activities are normally performed in an environmentally controlled area in an office setting on Eglin AFB.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal. May require sitting for long periods of time. Some lifting of up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, stooping, and climbing may be required. Must have ability to work in confined spaces and outside in the elements.
