Description
The Business Development Representative is responsible for selling multiple products through various sales and distribution channels within their assigned territory. This position is responsible for coordination and follow-through of the full sales process. This includes cold calling prospects and working with Sales department to generate leads, maintaining productive relationships with current customers, attending industry trade shows, call and visit customers within designated territory and provide high levels of customer service . The emphasis of this position is to achieve the established sales goals of the company..
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
90% Sales and Product Management
- Meet or exceed territory sales revenue forecast through prospecting, selling and closing new and existing projects and accounts
- Inside/Outside qualifying/selling targeting architects, contractors, sub-contractors and dealers/re-sellers for multiple products and brands
- Manage and develops relationships with existing sales and distribution channels
- Communicate customer and account requirements for existing and new customers to customer service group
- Report on selling, customer and territory activity, market trends, growth strategies and competition
- Assist on special projects, product launch, warehousing and customer pricing models, sales report and strategies and new product development
5% Participate and work national trade shows -includes set-up, tear down, show management, sales and customer contact and lead follow up
5% Manage sales database to prospect, qualify and sell projects to architects and manage data to dealer base
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- BS in Business Administration, Marketing or 4+ years equivalent industry work experience
- Previous outside sales experience in playground, recreation, construction other relevant related experience is preferred
- Effective and persuasive verbal and written communication skills are required to successfully deliver information and clarify understanding of products and services to prospective and current customers; proven ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of people, including executive levels, via phone, email and in person
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required; ability to learn and effectively use CRM software
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in order to meet or exceed sales objectives
- This position will require travel for outside selling in the assigned territory and some National travel to trades shows
