What You'll Do
As an Admissions Assistant, you'll help ensure every new resident experiences a smooth, organized, and welcoming admission process.
Responsibilities include:
- Welcome prospective residents, families, hospitals, and referral partners with professionalism and compassion.
- Coordinate and schedule admissions, including pre-admission assessments and required documentation.
- Maintain accurate resident records in compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
- Assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and financial eligibility processes.
- Conduct facility tours for prospective residents and families.
- Collaborate with nursing, social services, therapy, and administrative departments to ensure seamless admissions.
- Prepare admission packets and required documentation.
- Communicate with hospitals, physicians, case managers, and referral sources to coordinate timely admissions.
- Support marketing, census development, and community outreach initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous admissions, healthcare, or skilled nursing experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and insurance verification processes
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR); PointClickCare (PCC) experience is a plus
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Regular use of computers, phones, and office equipment
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy healthcare environment
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills
