Description
We are looking for a TDY Audiologist, but a Full Time Audiologist is preferred. The audiologist will develop and provide audiology services at Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation and the service area.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Doctorate (Au.D.) or Master's Degree in Audiology from an accredited university audiology program. Five (5) year's experience preferred.
- Certificate in Clinical Competency in Audiology (CCC-A) by the American Speech-Language Audiology Association (ASHA).
- Ability to acquire and maintain licensure as an Audiologist through the State of Alaska.
- Knowledge of assessment and evaluation of hearing disorders and the impact upon communication, health, vocation, socialization for the individual and family.
- Knowledge of appropriate treatment and referral options based on assessment and evaluation[MS1] [SS2] of hearing disorders.
- The ability to synthesize knowledge of otologic diseases and the Audiologic evaluation to assist physicians and other professional health staff in proper diagnosis and treatment.
- Knowledge of possible aural rehabilitation procedures to ensure appropriate counseling, referrals and / or therapy to individuals and families.
- Performs audiological tests necessary for evaluating the degree and nature of hearing loss. Performs comprehensive hearing aid evaluations, fittings and reprogramming. Incorporates follow-up of all (re)habilitation efforts as standard of care
- Provides audiological patient assessment and individualized treatment plans.
- Works directly with BBAHC personnel and contract physicians and other interdisciplinary health care staff to identify and reduce the impact of hearing impairment. Provides consultation to regional facilities to ensure follow up treatment, discharge planning, and other services as needed.
- Maintains records of services provided and testing for good patient service and follow-up.
- Appropriately refers of patients to other services or agencies in accordance with departmental policies.
- Develops and maintains the Audiology program where appropriate, consistent with BBAHC's Core Values.
