Description
National Auto Research (Black Book) is a leading provider of automotive valuation data and market intelligence used by lenders, OEMs, dealerships, fleet operators, and technology partners across the automotive industry.We're seeking an Automotive Market Analyst to monitor, analyze, and interpret market trends affecting Light Duty Trucks, including pickup trucks, cargo vans, passenger vans, and other commercial vehicles. This role combines market research, vehicle valuation, and data analysis to support Black Book's valuation products, forecasting models, and industry insights. You'll work closely with our Data Science and Product teams to ensure our market intelligence remains accurate and actionable.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze used vehicle market trends and adjust vehicle valuations for Light Duty Trucks.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for pickup trucks, cargo vans, passenger vans, chassis cabs, and related commercial vehicles.
- Research new vehicle launches, trim levels, equipment packages, and lifecycle updates.
- Monitor wholesale auctions, dealer activity, fleet markets, and online marketplaces to identify pricing trends.
- Track OEM announcements, incentives, production changes, and regulatory developments impacting truck values.
- Support residual value forecasting and future market projections.
- Prepare reports and market insights for internal teams and customers.
- Partner with Data Science and Product teams to improve valuation accuracy and analytical tools.
- Contribute to projects involving fleet trends, electrification, and emerging commercial vehicle technologies.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2+ years of experience in the automotive industry preferred, with experience in one or more of the following:
- Used vehicle valuation
- Automotive remarketing
- Fleet management
- Commercial vehicle sales
- Automotive finance
- OEM truck or commercial vehicle operations
- Experience with Light Duty Trucks, commercial vehicles, or fleet markets is strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in vehicle valuation, remarketing, fleet management, automotive finance, or OEM operations.
- Knowledge of wholesale auctions and auction data.
- Familiarity with EV trucks and emerging commercial vehicle technologies.
- Experience with automotive valuation platforms, VIN decoding, or market analytics tools.
