Overview
The Communications Engagement Specialist will enhance efficiency of daily internal communication efforts for Fort Wayne Metals, focusing on corporate strategic objectives and informing employees; support community-focused communications, highlighting this work across internal and external platforms; help advance internal tools and systems to improve department performance and general employee engagement to meet company objectives.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or related field. Additional education in project management, organizational change and/or communications preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' communications experience, required.
- Management experience, and/or experience in project management preferred.
- Social media content writing and/or management experience, preferred.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop employee communication material, promoting individual departments, company updates and upcoming events. This includes conveying critical, timely messages to employees as needed. Plan and draft compelling content to help educate employees, support overall company strategy and enhance consistent engagement.
- Support content creation and implementation on designated Fort Wayne Metal social media platforms.
- Manage the company's intranet, ensuring smooth communication to employees, collaboration across departments, and strategic updates as needed.
- Support the development of creative internal campaigns to promote community-focused events, partnerships, giving and volunteer openings. This includes drafting engaging communications content, informing employees about available opportunities and working alongside internal teams to support these efforts.
- Work to improve department efficiencies through continuous improvement and process development.
- Create and utilize employee feedback loops to evaluate and measure success of department objectives.
- When requested by your manager, provide consultation on projects led by groups external to the direct team to support Fort Wayne Metals culture.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.

- Proficient in the use of computers including Microsoft Office Products.
- Project management software experience.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Office environment in a fast-paced production atmosphere.
- Responsibilities require willingness to work outside of typical office schedule.
- Infrequent travel may be requested.
- Potentially exposed to loud noises on the production floor, and wiredrawing compounds such as oils, powder, etc.
- Must be able to access all areas of operation, including second floors.
- Considerable amount of time using computer at a desk.
- May need to stand or walk for longer periods of time during events or event preparation.
