Description
Position Summary:The Flexo Assistant supports the Flexographic Operator in the day-to-day operation of the press. This role is responsible for assisting with machine functions, quality checks, and changeovers while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Machine Operation
- Control all functions of the Martin Automatic Rewind operating panel
- Control all functions of the conveyor system
- Remove finished rolls from rewind onto the conveyor system
- Insert core plugs into cores
- Wrap rolls as required
- Place headers on rolls as required
- Tag completed rolls
- Apply web direction arrows correctly (2-3 inches from core, or centered on header if applied)
- Exchange core plug carts and header carts when low
Production Support
- Assist in dye testing
- Support machine changeovers including:
- Changing print sleeves
- Changing anilox rolls
- Changing doctor blades and end seals
- Cleaning mixers
- Returning ink from previous jobs
- Staging printing sleeves in designated areas
- Loading ink buckets onto ink pumps
- Preparing rewind for upcoming jobs (correct core size, taped and ready)
General Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Replenish supplies as needed
- Assist in cleaning the press and surrounding area
- Follow all safety and quality standards
