- Institutional Wide Senior Financial Analyst in Medical School (Part Time)
Description
Position Summary:Provides professional-level skills in performing moderate to complex financial analysis for the institution. Completes financial analysis and assists in the development of various institution-wide and operating unit-specific financial reports. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working with large datasets, partnering with leadership, and seeing the direct impact of their analyses on institutional decisions.
The successful candidate must be able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are required, as many reports, analyses, and presentations are prepared using spreadsheets. The position requires frequent interaction with supervisors and departmental personnel to obtain clarification, discuss financial matters, and provide consultation. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, demonstrate sound judgment and resourcefulness, adapt to changing priorities, and remain flexible in a dynamic work environment.
This is a part-time position that will work approximately twenty hours a week.

Position Key Accountabilities:
- Develop, prepare, analyze, and/or review reports summarizing financial activity for the institution.
- Prepare and analyze historical and projected financial data to provide senior management with valuable information upon which to make relevant financial decisions.
- May analyze, prepare, and/or review sponsored projects' financial activities.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of the annual financial report, the annual operating budget, quarterly operating projections, and the monthly financial report to senior management and UT System.
- Prepare and analyze reconciliations of activity with UT System.
- Analyze and prepare documentation and support as requested by internal and external auditors.
- May assist in and/or prepare the indirect cost proposal for the institution.
- May analyze and prepare needed adjustments to both actual and budget ledgers for the institution.

Certification/Skills:

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required
Minimum Experience:
5 years of related experience in a financial or accounting area required
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive:
This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code §117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position.
