McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston , a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenure clinical track instructor position in the UTHealth Houston Children's Heart Institute(CHI) as part of our Center for Innovation and Congenital Heart Disease (CiCHD).The Center for Innovation in Congenital Heart Disease, housed within the Children's Heart Institute (CHI), serves as a leading-edge research hub dedicated to transforming care for individuals with congenital heart disease across the lifespan. At the intersection of cardiovascular biology, bioengineering, and precision medicine, the Center develops advanced biomedical technologies, tissue and organ biomanufacturing platforms, personalized regenerative therapies, and next-generation diagnostic and interventional solutions tailored to patients from infancy through adulthood.
By uniting experts in bioengineering, cardiology, congenital cardiovascular surgery, imaging sciences, and translational medicine, the center will drive the creation of innovative devices, therapeutics, and treatment strategies that address the complex challenges of congenital heart conditions.
The selected candidate will contribute to the UTHealth Houston Children's Heart Institute's mission as an international leader in caring for children with cardiac conditions, advancing research in congenital heart defects and pediatric heart failure, and training the next generation of specialists who will provide life-saving care to patients.
Position Key Accountabilities:
This instructor role within the Center for Innovation and Congenital Heart Disease includes grant writing, assisting in research activities (cell culture maintenance, bioink fabrication), teaching our summer program students (high school through PhD students), and any other duties as assigned.
