Description
Honeywell Aerospace is a global provider of integrated avionics, navigation systems, engines, and aerospace service solutions. Our work consists of bringing new products to market while continuing to push the boundaries of technology through innovative research.We are seeking an engineer or scientist (M.S. or Ph.D.) who will pursue applied research in the area of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) inertial sensors, both gyroscopes and accelerometers. The potential areas of research and development include MEMS device design, device physics, electrical and/or mechanical simulations, sensor testing, and data analysis.
The scientist will be expected to develop new concepts, write project proposals, and develop new technologies for future products. This will include understanding customer requirements and translating those into device and product requirements.

- Conduct research and development activities aligned with organizational goals and objectives
- Design and conduct experiments, simulations, and analyses to drive new technology and product development
- Lead ideation, conceptualization, and prototyping of innovative solutions
- Collaborate with internal and external partners
- Ensure R&D projects meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality protocols
- Contribute to strategies for successful commercialization of R&D innovations
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- Masters in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline and 7 years experience.
- Experience with development, testing, and troubleshooting of sensors and their associated electronics.
- Must be a US citizen, permanent resident, or have protected status.
WE VALUE
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline and 5 years of experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Program leadership experience
- Experience with two or more of the following:
- Test techniques particularly focused on high performance sensors; writing test plans; developing data collection software/tools; analysis and interpretation of data; measurements over applied environmental conditions such as temperature, rotation, acceleration, vibration, magnetic field, etc.
- Embedded software development (e.g., FPGA, DSP).
- Analog electronics development including sensor electronics technology, low noise circuit design, and optimization of circuit layouts.
- Digital electronics development (e.g., ADC, DAC, SPI interfaces).
- Analytical capability to design transducers using mechanical and electrical analysis, simulation, and/or finite element modelling using tools such as COMSOL or ANSYS.
- Ability to understand the physics and demonstrate capability of modeling sensors and microsystems using first principles, equations, and simulation tools, and translate these modeling results into improvements in device performance.
- Prior experience with micro-electromechanical systems and microfabrication processes.

The annual base salary range for this position is 150,000- 175,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
