As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for performing software development activities for Airbus nFMS product, specifically in Middleware functionalities including Input/Output, Built-In Test, Operational software, Dual management and Thunderbolt platform integration activities. The successful candidate will be working with a team to develop complex features in compliance with the nFMS Software architecture. We are seeking someone who brings the right experience and expertise to lead the new feature development and integration using novel techniques and generate innovative solutions.

Qualifications
US PERSON REQUIREMENT
- Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics, Controls, Aerospace, or equivalent), with strong foundations in real‑time embedded software.
- Expert‑level proficiency in C/C++ and ADA for deterministic, real‑time embedded software used in safety‑critical systems.
- 10+ years developing software for avionics or comparable safety‑critical domains, including crew‑facing or operator‑facing display systems such as FMS, Flight displays, Synthetic vision, Tactical displays, or similar embedded User Interface products.
- Experience implementing user interface logic, display rendering behavior, data presentation, and interaction flows for real‑time embedded display systems used by flight crew or operators.
- Proven ability to design and implement new features, develop robust embedded software components, and perform expert‑level debugging, fault isolation, and performance tuning in constrained real‑time environments.
- Demonstrated ownership in integrating and delivering high‑reliability embedded software for flight‑critical or mission‑critical systems, ensuring stable in-service performance.
- Strong experience with software development toolchains including configuration management (Git, Bitbucket, ClearCase), build systems, CI pipelines, static/dynamic analysis tools, and automated test frameworks used in embedded development.
- Familiarity with DO‑178C development and verification workflows, including requirements traceability, code reviews, test coverage, problem reporting, and use of requirements management tools.
- Strong understanding of traceability, baselines, change control, and disciplined configuration management practices required for safety‑critical software.
WE VALUE
- Expertise in Software Design and Development of User Interface function, expertise in Debugging and Problem-solving skills
- Familiarization with protocols (A429, A661, A664, AFDX, W429, TFTP) and network/communication stack.
- Experience in Real Time Operating System such as DEOS and Redundancy Management software
- Significant engineering experience, particularly in Avionics, Airbus FMS
- Expertise in processes, standards, and system engineering norms, such as DO 178B/C
- Proven ability to lead by influence.
- Experience in representing the product line to various stakeholders and customers from a technical standpoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done.
- Possess strong analytical skills & software development skills.
