Description
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance operations. This role focuses on ensuring that all machinery, equipment, and infrastructure are in optimal working condition to support uninterrupted production processes. The Maintenance Manager leads the maintenance team, coordinates routine and preventive maintenance tasks, and responds to equipment breakdowns promptly. The goal is to minimize downtime and ensure the efficiency and safety of the plant's operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily Operations Management:
- Supervise and manage the daily maintenance activities of the facility, including inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Coordinate with production managers to ensure that maintenance tasks are carried out without disrupting production schedules.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Develop, implement, and oversee preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment failures and extend the lifespan of machinery.
- Schedule and assign routine maintenance tasks to ensure that all equipment is maintained according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and mentor the maintenance team, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their duties effectively.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Budget and Inventory Management:
- Manage the maintenance budget, including tracking expenditures, reducing costs, and optimizing the use of resources.
- Oversee the inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, ensuring that necessary materials are available when needed.
- Safety Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures, ensuring that maintenance activities are conducted in a safe manner.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits, addressing any potential hazards promptly.
- Emergency Response:
- Lead the response to equipment breakdowns or failures, coordinating rapid repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain an on-call schedule for emergency maintenance outside of regular hours.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience in maintenance management within a steel processing or heavy manufacturing environment is also considered.
- Experience: Proven experience in a maintenance management role, ideally within the steel or heavy manufacturing industries.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, electrical systems, and maintenance practices.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve maintenance issues.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in maintenance management software (CMMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and basic project management tools.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:
- Industrial machinery (e.g., rolling mills, shears, furnaces)
- Electrical and mechanical systems
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of working in confined spaces, at heights, and in areas with varying temperatures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Primarily based on the production floor, with exposure to noise, dust, heavy machinery, and temperature variations.
- Office work is required for planning, budgeting, and reporting tasks.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory

The pay for this position is $40.95 $56.31. If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
