- NOLA Senior Credit Underwriter
Description
We are seeking a Senior Credit Underwriter for the Consumer Lending Department.
The Senior Credit Underwriter analyzes consumer loan applications and makes sound, timely credit decisions within established lending policies and authority. This role supports the Portfolio Manager in overseeing daily underwriting operations, monitoring workflow, and helping achieve credit quality, portfolio performance, and profitability goals. As a subject matter expert, the Senior Credit Underwriter provides guidance and training to underwriting staff, partners closely with internal business channels, and ensures lending decisions are communicated clearly and effectively while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.

Experience:
Required
- 5 years of progressively increasing lending experience
Education:
Required
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
Preferred
- Degree preferred
Licenses & Certifications:
Preferred
- Credit Counseling
Skills & Knowledge:
Required
- Extensive knowledge of credit and collateral underwriting standards
- Knowledge of federal lending regulations and underwriting rules
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Ability to communicate credit decisions effectively to clients and internal stakeholders
- Ability to use sound judgment in complex underwriting situations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm
