As a Procurement Manager, you will lead indirect procurement across the AMAPAC region, driving category management strategies, strengthening supplier partnerships, and negotiating impactful agreements that support business performance. What you'll do on a typical day:
- Serve as a category manager within the regional procurement team, specifically covering strategic activities in support of the indirect materials and services categories
- Develop and own procurement strategies in assigned categories
- Conduct opportunity analysis, market research, and supplier evaluation
- Construct commercial models and market baskets, develop and deploy RF(x) initiatives, conduct savings and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis
- Negotiate contract terms with suppliers while ensuring alignment with company quality and performance standards
- Manage and align internal stakeholder interests, implement strategic solutions, and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure compliance
- Manage strategic supplier relationships, manage issue resolution, conduct periodic business reviews, and champion continuous improvement initiatives
At a minimum, you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field, or equivalent related work or military experience
- 5 years of combined experience in strategic procurement and logistics/operations
- Solid experience with all modes of transportation and logistics
- Understanding of and experience with various rate structures.
- Solid experience with and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Access)
- 3-5 years experience in procurement or supply chain roles with 1-3 years in a strategic capacity (category analyst, strategic sourcing specialist, or similar)
- 3-5 years experience in a sales or business development role with 1-3 years in account management at national or enterprise level
- Industry certification (APICS, ISM, etc)
- Availability to travel 5-10% of the time
- Experience in developing multi-year strategies, conducting or participating in RF(x) activities, and negotiating contracts with multi-site, regional, or enterprise scope
- Self-motivated work style; experience working well with minimal direct supervision or in a team environment; comfortable consulting with team members and management as needed
- Proficient in basic analysis (Excel PivotTables, PowerBI, etc)
- Solid interpersonal, organizational, multitasking, and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working independently under tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
