- Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Description
As our Shipping/Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for handling all inbound and outbound transactions for trucks/railcars. Additionally, you will collaborate and communicate with the yard, sales and drivers involved in the shipment of product and tracks and update the status of outbound shipments.
Responsibilities
- Support the shipment of goods produced
- Provide instructions to drivers or approved visitors that enter the yard
- Maintain shipping spreadsheet for all coated products that comes in and leaves the facility
- Confirm accuracy of shipments by verifying releases from customers or sales team
- Verify all goods against invoices or other documents
- Responsible for sorting, scanning and all supporting paperwork; and sending complete shipping documents to appropriate recipients
- Know proper shipping procedures as far as weight and height regulations to ensure safe transport
- Unload received material as needed
- Update inbound and outbound spreadsheets
- Reconcile all orders
- Support production paperwork as needed
- Create purchase orders as needed
- Address and answer any inquiries related to outbound goods in person or over email
- Other duties as assigned
Experience, Education, etc.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of shipping experience preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to follow Work Process and Procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- SAP working knowledge, preferred
- Attention to detail
- Forklift trained
