- Sr. Inventory Planner
Description
The Senior Inventory Planner is responsible for reviewing production plan to ensure the right parts are available at the right time to guarantee seamless on-time kitting and prevent production disruption. Serving as a critical coordinator, this role collaborates closely with buyers, planners and operations to align material availability with shop floor execution. The ideal candidate pairs strict attention to detail with proactive problem-solving.Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure raw material and components are available to meet production timelines.
•Identify and resolve material shortages, quality holds, delivery delays before they impact the final production schedule.
•Convert planned orders into production orders accurately and monitor on‑time kitting performance to support manufacturing readiness.
•Develop reporting tools and analysis for key stakeholders to provide planning insights including production continuity and material availability.
•Provides regular updates to Program Management and Operations regarding material status, potential delays, and realistic recovery plans.
•Serve as the primary point of contact for operations management during critical supply chain disruptions or urgent order escalations.
•Ensure effective communication during material shortage escalations by identifying the root cause, assessing impact, and presenting a defined recovery plan to stakeholders.
•Partner with Engineering and QA to smoothly integrate NPI and ECOs into the live production schedule.
•Tracks and report on Key Performance indicators (KPIs) such as Late Planned Orders, On-time Kit Releases, Aged WIP, MRP exception messages
•Maintains ERP/MRP system integrity ensuring all lead times, bill of materials and routing data are accurate.
•Provide guidance and mentorship to junior Inventory Planners.
•Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
You Must Have:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 5+ years of proven experience in production planning within a complex industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong communicator both orally and in writing.
• Expert-level Excell skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot tables, data modeling).
• Ability to present to senior leadership team internally.
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. To be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
WE VALUE:
Experience in the aerospace and defense industry
SAP experience is strongly preferred
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
APICS Certification (CPIM or CSCP) is highly preferred.
