As a Systems Engineer 1 within the Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) organization here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in creating advanced systems that will meet the long-term evolving needs of the Aviation industry. Your systems engineering expertise will not only impact on the successful delivery of cutting-edge Avionics solutions but also contribute to the broader mission of enhancing global aviation travel, navigation and safety.In this role within the Military Traffic & Transponder Product Engineering team, you will impact the development and delivery of cutting-edge software solutions that support Honeywell's aerospace initiatives, helping to drive innovation and maintain our leadership in the industry.
On our team, you will have the opportunity to work on next-generation and new product development projects, directly contributing to the advancement of aviation technology in the Airborne Traffic, Collision Avoidance & Surveillance Avionics space. You will have ownership for systems engineering development at every aspect of the systems life cycle.

You will work out of Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Work across disciplines, collaborating with cross-functional teams consisting of Systems, Software, Hardware and Test Engineers to understand customer requirements and provide innovative solutions.
- Requirements Analysis / Decomposition.
- Systems Design.
- Model-based Development System Design.
- Systems Integration.
- Systems Validation & Verification.
- Customer Interaction.
- Project Oversight / Coordination.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in software engineering practices, TCAS, and airborne Avionics technologies.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- Experience with software development tools, version control systems, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
- Ability to manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies effectively.
WE VALUE
- Experience working with Defense Customers preferred
- 1 year of Systems Engineering experience.
- Lab experience
- Experience in similar product domains is of value i.e. Avionics, Navigation and/or Airborne Surveillance (TCAS, Transponder, ADS-B, DME, UAT).
- Competence to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience.
- Experience with RF products.
- Experience with the FAA certification process is a plus.
- Individuals that quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts.
- Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events
- Team building and collaboration
- Multi-tasking and ability to adapt dictated by project changes.
