Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Transportation Administrator to join the Mobility Team in Atlanta, GA. The qualified candidate would be responsible for assisting with maintenance administrative services for Maintenance Engineering & Inspection (MEI) projects.
This position is based in Atlanta, GA at GDOT offices with a hybrid work model. The role requires site visits and field inspections, along with office-based administrative tasks. The work environment involves coordination with various stakeholders, including internal staff, vendors, and external customers, to ensure compliance with regulations and effective oversight of signage.
This role will sit within the larger Global Mobility Business Area. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today's mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world's growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.
Role accountabilities:
- Manage permitting for outdoor advertising under federal and state laws.
- Field-check and review applications for completeness.
- Oversee consultant agents for inventory and permitting tasks.
- Maintain and perform quality assurance/quality control on the electronic permit database.
- Serve as a policy and permit expert while interacting with internal and external customers.
- Process and track outdoor advertising permits.
- Support the GDOT lead and coordinate with vendors and internal staff.
- Review applications and perform field validations along rights-of-way.
- Assist with payments including ACH, e-checks, and credit card transactions and manage invoices.
- Communicate status, explain rules, and represent GDOT before vendors and public forums.
- Conduct site visits to measure, inspect, and inventory signs in assigned districts.
- Direct consultant and field agents to collect inventory data and process permits.
- Assist with electronic database administration, including QA/QC of permit records.
- Provide internal and external stakeholders with guidance on permitting processes.
- Analyze site plans, zoning documents, plats, and local ordinances as requested.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency with basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
- Experience working with accounting and purchasing laws, rules, and regulations.
- Experience in reviewing technical documents and reports related to construction plans, utility permits, utility agreements, standard specifications, contracts, project concept reports, and preconstruction schedules.
- Proficiency with workflow software such as Concur and Microsoft GP.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-driven and detail-oriented with the capability of managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in business, public administration, planning, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with the Georgia Outdoor Advertising Control Act and Highway Beautification Act.
- Experience with permit systems or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with ACH or e-payment processes.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $64,800-97,2000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
